This is my first Christmas with cancer and I am so happy to be here.  Woo Hoo!  There has been one slight hick up however, and that would be Chemo Brain.

You see, one of the common side effects of chemo is having memory problems, commonly known as Chemo Brain.  It can be a pain in the dupa.  Sometimes you feel like you’re losing your mind.  But, at Christmas time…the kids are loving it.

We had the typical Christmas morning.  My son, who is 17, was the biggest kid of all.  He kept poking his head in our bedroom every 5 minutes.  I couldn’t help but crack up.

When my husband and I finally pulled ourselves out of bed, at 7:30 a.m., the kids dove in and started handing out the presents. I was shocked at how many presents Santa brought.  You see, I fell asleep last night so I didn’t even get a peak at him when he came this year.  On top of what Santa brought, I didn’t really remember everything that I had wrapped.

As the kids were opening their presents, I would say to myself….”no idea what’s in that box.”  Then I’d say, to myself, “oh yeah, I remember.” Over and over again the same thing.  LOL  My brain was working overtime this morning.

Even though this was a “Chemo Brain Christmas”, I still managed to not exceed my budget. So, Woo Hoo!  Maybe chemo is the key.  Even though we bought the presents, except for Santa of course, we stayed in budget, plus it was a surprise for me as well.  LOL

I would like to wish everyone a Merry “Chemo Brain” Christmas. God Bless.
